Bad Gastein
Bad Gastein (aprox. 5838 inhabitants, 1002 m above Sea level) is a world-famous health and winter sports resort that is located in the middle of the National Park Hohe Tauern. Due to the attitude of 1002 m above sea level Gastein is free of fog and has plenty of fresh mountain air.
Bischofshofen
The city Bischofshofen (10.100 inhabitants, 550 m above sea level) is placed in beautiful mountain scenery. It is popular for the Four Hills ski jumping Tournament which takes place every year.
Bramberg im Pinzgau
The village Bramberg (3895 inhabitants, 819 m above sea level) with its district Muehlbach is placed at the foot of the ‚Wildkogel’ (2225 m). In winter the ski resort ‚Ski-Arena Wildkogel’ offers wonderful slopes with a view of the 3.000 meter peaks of the national park ‚Hohe Tauern’.
Bruck an der Großglocknerstraße
The village Bruck an der Grossglocknerstraße (4427 inhabitants, 756 m above sea level) is located approx. 4 km south of Zell am See and is directly situated at the world-famous Grossglockner-Hochalpenstrasse (www.grossglockner.at), which leads up to the highest mountain of Austria, the Grossglockner (3798 m).
Dienten am Hochkönig
The village Dienten (1.071 m above sea level, 805 inhabitants) is located at the base of the mountain Hochkoenig in a marvellous landscape.
The ski area Hochkoenig is one of the most beautiful and snow-reliable ski areas in Austria.
Filzmoos
The village Filzmoos (1.390 inhabitants, 1.075 m above sea level) is located in the north eastern part of the district Pongau at the border to Styria and Upper Austria. Filzmoos is a great ski area in winter.
Fusch an der Großglocknerstraße
The small village Fusch (754 inhabitants, 805 m above sea level) is placed in a side valley approx. 18 km southwest of Zell am See. Fusch is directly situated at the world-famous Grossglockner-Hochalpenstrasse (www.grossglockner.at), which leads up to the highest mountain of Austria, the Grossglockner (3.798 m).
Goldegg
The village Goldegg (822 m above sea level, 2.216 inhabitants) is placed on a sunny plateau with a marvellous view of the surrounding mountain region. It is located in the middle of the famous ski region ‘Ski Amadé’, which offers over 860 km of well-groomed pistes and 270 lifts.
Hollersbach
The small, romantic village Hollersbach (approx. 1.157 inhabitants, 806 m above sea level) is located in the middle of the holiday region 'National Park Hohe Tauern'. With the cable car 'Panoramabahn' you get up to 1892 m above sea level in just 12 minutes.
Hüttau
Hüttau is located in the middle of the holiday region ‘Sportwelt Amadé’ (1.555 inhabitants, 697 m above sea level). The small recreation place Hüttau is placed 50 km south of the provincial capital Salzburg.
