Mittersill
The city Mittersill (5464 inhabitants, 790 m above sea level) is the main city of the Oberpinzgau. Because of the central location between the national park Hohe Tauern and the Kitzbuehler Alpen, Mittersill is a popular holiday destination.
The ski area Kitzbuehler Alpen, with over 160 km slopes is reachable in just a few minutes with the newly built Panorama Bahn in Hollersbach.
Beside that several cross-country skiing tracks, winter walking trails and toboggan runs complete the recreation offer. Walking tours and excursions to the local mountains in Mittersill or to the Pihapper peak (2.513 m) are very popular tourist attractions in summer.
