St. Martin bei Lofer (1152 inhabitants, 633 m above sea level) is situated in the valley Pinzgauer Saalachtal at the base of the mountain region Loferer Steinberge.
The Pinzgauer Saalachtal offers three own ski areas with ideal conditions, the Loferer Almbahnen, Heutal, as well as the Loferer Steinplatte. Great experiences are the sleigh rides in the snowy winter landscape or cosy evenings in the alp cottages. The ski areas Skiwelt Amadé, Kitzbueheler Alpen, Saalbach-Hinterglemm as well as the ski area Zell am See-Kaprun are within easy reach.
In summer the region offers varied leisure time activities. Besides rafting, canoeing, kayaking you find innumerable hiking trails for relaxing walking tours in unspoiled nature. For sun seekers a visit in the new swimming bath Loferer Steinbergbad is advisable.
