The mountain town Zell am See (9.638 inhabitants, 760 m above sea level) is placed in one of the most popular holiday regions in Austria. Together with the partner municipality Kaprun, the region disposes of over 13.500 spare beds and has more than 2 millions overnight stays yearly.
In winter the local mountain of Zell am See the Schmittenhoehe (1.965 m) and the glacier ski area Kitzsteinhorn (3.203 m) offer in total 56 cable cars and lifts with over 132 km ski runs. Due to the glacier ski area, 100 % snow-reliability is guaranteed. Off the ski runs you find plenty of alternatives like tobogganing, hiking or cross-country skiing.
In summer several hiking trails and alp lodges are available for excursions in the superb mountain region. The lake of Zell am See, which has drinking water quality, invites you to water sports or just for cooling-down.
