The village Unken (1.956 inhabitants, 564 m above sea level) is located at the entrance of the valley ´Pinzgauer Saalachtal’ directly after the German border. In winter 3 ski areas are situated in the close proximity: the ‘Loferer Almbahnen’, the ski area ‘Heutal’ as well as the ‘Loferer Steinplatte’.
