Saalbach-Hinterglemm (1.003 m above sea level, 2.958 inhabitants) is one of the biggest tourist resorts in Austria and is located west of Saalfelden and northwest of Zell am See. In Winter you find a marvellous ski area 'Skizirkus Saalbach-Hinterglemm/Leogang’ with 52 lifts, 200 km pistes inclusive a flood-light piste in Saalbach. Also 10 km cross-country skiing slopes and a lighted toboggan run are available.
In summer Saalbach is a wonderful hiking area with about 400 km hiking trails. Additional to this Saalbach offers over 80 km mountainbike ways.
