Location

The community of Lofer is located in the middle of the Alps. Despite the rural flair, the municipality has been able to create a very diverse vacation environment. The spectrum for variety and pleasure ranges from the numerous hiking trails to exciting kayaking on the Saalach. In winter it is only a few minutes drive to the lift to the family ski area of the Loferer Almbahnen. But also within a radius of about 45 minutes by car you can reach the ski area in Maria Alm and Hochkönig, the very famous ski areas around Kitzbühel, Wilder Kaiser in Tyrol or the Steinplatte near Waidring, the ski area with the ski circuit Saalbach - Hinterglemm - Leogang or the ski areas of Zell am See - Kaprun with the Schmittenhöhe and the Kitzsteinhorn. Lofer is also very centrally located. By car you need about 20 minutes to the Berchtesgadener Land in Bavaria, Bad Reichenhall is reached in about 30 minutes and to the festival city of Salzburg you need at most 40 minutes. Even to Munich you need only about 90 minutes.
